Prescriptions

Prescription Process

Initial Prescription
Consult our healthcare professional to get a diagnosis and the proper medication. Prescriptions usually last 1-3 months.

Review and Repeat Prescription Registration
You will be registered for our Repeat Prescription Service if you are eligible for repeat prescriptions. Eligibility is based on medication type, health status, and understanding of treatment risks and benefits.

Requesting Repeat Prescriptions
Order your repeat prescriptions securely online two weeks before they run out. We do not accept prescription requests via email or phone.

Prescription Review
Don't worry, our healthcare team will double-check if you really need another prescription and make sure you're taking the right amount.

Dispensing Medication
Once your prescription is approved, it will be electronically sent to your pharmacy for collection or mailed to you.

Regular Medication Reviews
Depending on your medication and diagnosis, reviews occur every 6-12 months or more often if needed. These sessions address medication effectiveness, side effects, and any concerns.

Meno Care Testosterone Therapy Safety Standards

To maintain stringent medication safety standards, prescriptions at Meno Care are solely available to women under our care. If you've not had a medical consultation within the last year or haven't undergone a three-month review following the commencement or alteration of your treatment, a follow-up appointment must be booked before any new prescriptions can be authorised.

This step is crucial to ensure the safety and efficacy of your treatment. We also have specific protocols for women prescribed testosterone:

  • Initial Blood Test: A blood test is obligatory within two to three months of initiating testosterone therapy.

  • Annual Blood Tests: Should the initial test indicate stable hormone levels, subsequent blood tests will be conducted at a minimum frequency once a year.

These protocols are in place to guarantee both the efficacy and safety of your treatment.

  • Testosterone therapy should be used cautiously in women with other medical conditions, such as heart, liver, and kidney disease.
